My Business Credit Journey to 1,000,000

We want to talk a little bit about a commonly overlooked step when it comes to building business credit.  This is an important step when building a foundation for your entity.  NOTE:  Failure to follow each step in this “phase” will not completely destroy your business credit hopes and dreams.  However, experience has taught us that this phase is important and will only help you in the long run.We call this phase, the “Marketing Phase”.. 

–1. Register your phone number with 411.  This is easy and can be done for free or for a small fee.

–2. Submit your domain name to search engines.  At minimum you should submit your domain to google, yahoo and msn.  However, there are literally 100′s of engines out there, register with as many as you can.  Go to each site and manually submit your company.  This is free.

–3. Register your entity with as many directories that you can.  Just do a quick google search for “free business directories” and register with the top 3 – 5+. Don’t pay to be listed, only go with the FREE ones.

–4. Go to Google Maps and register your company with them.  Put in all of your company information so that a map to your business address shows up when someone searches for you. This is free.

–5.  Map out a game plan of the first 5 vendors that you are going to apply with. DO NOT APPLY YET!  Simply go to their website and put your business INTO 

their system.  Request a Catalogue, register for a FREE account. *not a credit account, just a basic profile account, if they offer one on their website.  You

can accomplish this for FREE also.

The KEY here is making sure your company is VISIBLE.  Creditors will look for your company online.  Not being visible may create an issue.  Registering with vendors that you plan on using in the upcoming weeks is simply a good practice.  Being IN their system will make applying for a credit account (when the time comes) much easier.  Also, being IN their system has been proven to help approvals and increase the likelihood of larger credit amounts.  You can do all of this on your own for free OR you can pay someone to do it.  Our “Marketing Phase” is one of the phases in our Business Credit System.  As part of this program we register our clients with 65+ search engines, we register their phone with directory 411, we submit their company to several directories and we register them with an initial set of vendors..   ..this is just a small piece which will help you when establishing your business credit.
